AICE MEDIA STUIDES PROJECT

For my third quarter submission, I decided to recreate all of my pages in Indesign. I was fairly happy with the first version of my cover, but remaking it in Indesign made it seem more polished. It is also more high resolution and easier to read. I completely redesigned my table of contents. I removed the colored background because it would've been very expensive to produce. Due to this, I was able to make a more effective use of my white space and add an extra photo. For my article spread, I made it all into one article instead of a page of the article and then just having the interview that I did. This made the spread more cohesive and really tied everything together.    

For my third revision, I decided to remake my cover in Indesign. I was fairly happy with the first version of my cover, but I wanted to remake it because I thought it would make my project more cohesive overall. I changed the design a little bit and added a shape to make it more visually appealing. Since I redid all my other pages, it was only fair to redo my cover with Indesign as well. The added pop of red is also a nice aesthetic bonus, seeing as red is one of the traditional circus colors.

For my magazine, I plan to distribute it mainly in America. I want it to be available to anyone who wants to read it, but I feel that having it based in America would be beneficial. I would talk to different retailers in order to get prime shelf space. I also want to go to different circus events to help promote it and get the word out. Since the circus community is fairly small and a lot of people know each other, the word will travel quickly. For the digital element, I plan to have magazine access online so people who don't have time to read the physical copy can take it on the go. I also plan to market the magazine through different social media platforms such as Twitter and Instagram. I also think that having a Youtube channel that teaches people circus would be a good way to help boost it.

For my first revision, I decided to change the layout of my second magazine page. I felt that having the separation between the two pages was too great, so I decided to make it more cohesive. Now it’s all structured as one flowing article which makes it look more professional. I decided to make the interview a part of the article instead of an insert into the main article. This provides a better overall view for the reader and wont confuse them as much as having it as an insert. Having a continuous spread is more conventional to the industry standard as well.
