Audience Engagement Research - Dance Magazine

Dance Magazine is a good publication to analyze because it holds a similar audience. The fact that the magazine is focused solely on one sport is why I picked it to evaluate. It brings the dance community together, just as I hope to do with my magazine for the circus world. Dance Magazine is not just a singular magazine however. Under its umbrella there are multiple other magazines that help them cover the widest range of people possible. Theres DanceSpirit, Pointe, and even Dance retailer News. All together, these publications reach over 2 million people. They cover everything from ballet to tips and tricks for teachers.

In addition to having all these different publications, they also have the Dance Magazine Awards. These awards are a huge deal in the dance community, so their readers also care a lot about them. Seeing as they are the most trusted publication in dance, this awards ceremony is extremely influential.

They also have a social media presence. Dance Magazine has a Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. These social media tools help the audience stay engaged even when they don't receive a copy of the magazine that week. Additionally, they give the audience more content than just the magazine itself and have more opportunities for the audience to interact.
